Pimples happen when your skin's pores become clogged with dead skin cells, bacteria and oils. This can occur for many reasons, including hormones, overexposure to greasy products or reaction to a new product. You might think covering up a pimple consists of slathering on concealer, but this just accentuates it. When it comes to hiding a pimple, less is more. For maximum coverage, prepare the infected area before you conceal it.Related Searches:Difficulty:Moderately EasyInstructions Things You'll NeedAcne cleanserFacial tonerCotton ballsLightweight moisturizerConcealer brushConcealerTranslucent powderPowder brushSuggest Edits1Wash your face with a mild acne cleanser that contains salicylic acid to prevent other pimples from forming. Use circular motions and work the cleanser into your skin for 30 seconds before rinsing off with lukewarm water. Hot water can dry out the skin.
2Saturate a cotton ball with facial toner. If you have very sensitive skin, choose an alcohol-free toner. Wipe the toner across your face to remove any excess sebum, dirt or makeup the cleanser left behind.
3Moisturize your face with a lightweight moisturizer. This allows for a smoother application for your concealer and makeup. It also reduces the chances of flaky skin, which enhances redness and acne.
4Dab on a light layer of concealer over the pimple, using a concealer brush. The concealer should match the color of your skin. The closer the match the better. If you do not have a good match, mix two concealers together until you achieve a shade closest to your skin color.
5Add a little more concealer and rotate the brush on top of the pimple to cover the surface fully. Blend out the edges to avoid harsh makeup lines.
6Dip your powder brush into your translucent powder. Tap off any excess and dab the brush on the back of your hand to remove even more powder. Press the brush onto the concealed spot to set the concealer. Do not buff, because it will move the concealer and reveal the pimple.
Tips & WarningsWash your face every night to remove dirt, oils and makeup from your face to prevent future breakouts. If you have only a green concealer, follow the instructions above to hide the pimple, then apply a thin layer of foundation to blend and conceal. A concealer closest to your skin shade is ideal, though.
Do not conceal your pimple if it is infected. Added makeup will inflame and irritate it more.
