If you have a digital photo on your computer that shows a person's zit-covered face, you might want to fix the pimples using GIMP. For example, the only photo you have of a teenage friend or relative has pimples, and you prefer not to display the blemishes when you show someone the image. GIMP is a free image editing application that you use to open photos and change their appearance with a variety of tools. When the face in your picture has pimples, you can use GIMP's healing tool to cover them up.

Launch GIMP on your computer.

2

Click "File" at the top of the GIMP application window, click "Open," then click the folder on your computer containing the image that has pimples, and click the image to select it, then click "Open."

3

Click "Tools" at the top of the GIMP window, then click "Paint Tools" and click "Heal."

4

Click a brush size under "Brushes" in the "Layers, Channels, Paths, Undo -- Brushes" pallet that matches the size of the pimple.

5

Press and hold the "Control" key on your computer's keyboard, then click an area on the person's face that is blemish-free, to select and load the Heal tool with the color and texture of that section of the face. Whatever you click on with the Heal tool will be painted with the color and texture you selected and loaded. Release the "Control" key.

6

Click the pimple to heal it, replacing the blemish with the appearance of the surrounding pimple-free flesh.
